We gather to celebrate the Divine Service in God's House. It is at the Divine Service that our Triune God is pleased to serve us. We are sinners who dare to stand on holy ground, confident that the Lord will receive us for the sake of Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross.
We confess our sin and therefore, our need for God's mercy and salvation. Since God is pleased to bestow his forgiveness through Word and Sacrament, that is the purpose for our gathering.
In Word and Sacrament, the Holy Spirit delivers to us Jesus who presents us to the Father as his precious saints.
